Fake Bake Aftercare Advice
During: Your therapist will ask you to wear sticky feet, these will stop the soles of your feet discolouring. The therapist will then prepare your skin with Fake Bake Oil Free Moisturiser, applying to knees, elbows, hands & feet, please inform the therapist if you have any other areas of dry skin. This ensures your tan blends naturally. Your Fake Bake Spray Tan will then be applied. Immediately after your tan we recommend you allow a few minutes for the tan to absorb before dressing.
 
After
  •  Wear loose clothing
  • Keep skin completely dry, avoid water contact
  • DO NOT apply any products to developing tan
  • Allow tan to develop for 6-8 hours minimum (or overnight if possible)
  • Avoid other hair/beauty treatments whilst tan is developing
  •  Avoid activities that make you perspire
 
After your tan has developed:
  • Rinse off remaining colour guide with warm/hot water. Once the water runs clean wash yourself with a mild soap (showers are recommend rather than baths)
  • Avoid products that contain alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) as they can strip the colour
  • Avoid swimming pools as Chlorine can prematurely fade your tan
  • To prolong your tan use Fake Bake Oil Free Moisturiser daily, locking in colour. This will also hydrate your skin & can be purchased at Twiggys Health Spa, please ask your therapist for details
 
For Your Information:
Occasionally your tan can rub off onto clothing/bedding. Fake Bake usually washes out of most materials with the exception of silk and may also stain underwear, particularly bra’s however we cannot guarantee this. Twiggys Health Spa will not be held responsible for any garments affected.
 
 

 

Nouveau Lash Aftercare
Before:
  • Anybody wishing to have lash extensions should ensure they have a patch test at least 24 hours before the treatment.
 
During:
Your therapist will apply anti-wrinkle gel pads over your bottom lashes, to protect them during the treatment. Then while keeping your eyes closed each synthetic lash is dipped in glue & applied to your own eyelash. This procedure takes about 1 hour; however can take longer depending on the way your natural lashes lay.
 
After:
  • For the first two hours after lash treatment do not allow water to contact the lashes
  • For two days after lash treatment DO NOT steam your face, use a steam bath, swim or wash your face with hot water
  • DO NOT use waterproof mascara on lashes as this will affect the bonding of the lashes. Only use water based mascara on the lash tip
  • ONLY use oil free eye make-up remover. Please ask your therapist should you need advice on this
  • DO NOT perm lash extensions
  • DO NOT use a lash curler, as this can break both lash extension & natural lashes
  • DO NOT rub eyes or lashes when washing face, always pat dry after cleansing
  • An occasional short visit to the sauna is fine. However going on a daily basis may cause earlier maintenance as the lashes could prematurely fall off or tilt in a different direction from your natural lash
 
For Your Information:
Regular maintenance is needed on lashes; infills should be done every two weeks. A few lashes may fall out within the first few days this is due to natural lashes shedding and is completely normal. Please ask your therapist for advice on mascara’s/make up remover if you are unsure. Lash extensions will not damage your natural lashes providing you follow the aftercare advice.

 

Waxing Aftercare Advice

After waxing please follow the guidelines below to ensure your skin is cared for properly;                                                                                                                                                                                  

  • Please note: slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax.  These symptons should subside after 24-48 hours.  If you experience persistent redness or irritation or simply have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01302 323499.
  • Keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat and friction during 24-48 hours after.  This means;
  • NO hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only)
  • NO saunas, hot tubs or steam treatments
  • NO tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans)
  • NO sport, gym work or other exercise
  • AVOID scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands
  • WEAR clean, loose fitting clothes
  • AVOID swimming in chlorinated pools
  • DON''T apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the treated area

To soothe and protect the skin you can apply antiseptic cream to the treated area regularly for three days following your treatment.  Always wash your hands before applying any product.

  • To prevent ingrowing hairs: starting a few days after your treatment, gently scrub the skin no more than 3 times a week in the bath or shower using a loofah or exfoliating mit.  Also moisturise the area daily, which will keep the skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally
  • You may notice a small amount of re-growth after a week or so.  It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results.  Hair needs to be at least 1/2 cm long before it can be successfully removed by waxing; please DON''T shave in between appointments.  To maintain your smooth appearance, we recommend regular waxing every 4-6 weeks

 

 

 

 

 

Massage Aftercare Advice

Following a massage you must ensure you;

Drink at least 6 glasses of water 

Do not sit in the sun (if oil has been used)

Avoid alcohol fro the next 24 hours

Avoid tea and coffee for the next 12 hours 

Avoid caffeine i.e. Headache tablets, fizzy drinks etc

You may suffer from mild headaches or nausea following  your treatment

(This is due to the elimination of toxins and will be rectified by drinking water) 

Take care when driving as you will not be as alert after your treatment

Avoid sunbeds, sauna''s and steamrooms for the next 12 hours

Do not exfoliate for at least one week (Body exfoliation only)                                                                                       

 

Nail Enhancement Aftercare

 

Following your beautiful nail enhancements, like all valuable possessions they need loving care and attention to maintain their beauty.  Please read the following guidelines;
DO remember that the nails are new to you -it will take a day or so to get    accustomed to having longer nails.
DO remember to apply a base coat before applying nail varnish.  This will help prevent the nails from becoming yellow or stained.
DO remember to return to Twiggys for maintenance and re-balance every two weeks
DO remember to purrchase some Home Care Products from your technician.   Especially if you are unable to return to Twiggys in two weeks.  Your need some  glue/resin, a file for shaping, non acetone varnish remover, a buffer if you wear your nails natural, nail oil, coloured nail varnish and top and base coat.

DO use a non-acetone varnish remover or the nail ehancements may be damaged.  If using a varnish remover you already have at home, please check the ingredients before using.  If unsure this acetone varnish remover can be purchased from Twiggys.
DON''T forget to make an appointment with your nail technician and purchase your maintenance kit before you leave.
DON''T wear your nails too long.  Chooose a length that suits your lifestyle.
DON''T use anything other than non-acetone varnish remover.
DON''T use your nails as tools, they are not indestructable, use a screwdriver or a knife.  Try using the sides or pads of your fingers or even your knuckles for difficult jobs.
DON''T use clippers, scissors or a metal file on your nails.  Use the special emery boards recommended by your technician.  
DON''T attempt to remove the nail enhancements yourself.  Return to Twiggys for expert attention.  If you are unable to make a return visit then purchase a Nail Enhancement remover (not suitable for gel) from Twiggys.
